Seattle to Vancouver Pet Relocation
We get dogs and cats from Seattle to Vancouver, door to door. We arrange the pickup at your home in the Seattle area, the papers Canada asks for, customs clearance and delivery to your new home in Metro Vancouver.

Moving your pet to Vancouver
Vancouver is the closest big Canadian city to Seattle, in the same time zone and with much the same weather: mild, wet winters and dry summers. That makes it one of the easier border moves at any time of year. What takes planning is the paperwork Canada checks on the way in, so we go through it with you early.
We plan the safest way for your pet, based on the breed, age, the weather and your dates, and we set the timing with you so someone is there at both ends. You can travel the same day or another day: many owners go first, get the new place ready, and have their pet follow.

What your pet needs to enter Canada
- Dogs and cats 3 months and older: a valid rabies vaccination certificate from a licensed vet, in English or French. It describes your pet, names you as the owner, and gives the vaccine date, its trade name and serial number, and how long it is valid. With no validity written on it, Canada counts it as 1 year, so a 3 year vaccine needs the 3 years on the certificate.
- Puppies and kittens under 3 months: no rabies certificate, but proof of age from a vet.
- Dogs under 8 months: for Canada, a dog travels "accompanied" only with its owner. Yours travels without you, so it also needs a vet health certificate from an exam in the 72 hours before it arrives in Canada.
- No microchip is needed for a personal pet, and no USDA endorsement.
Canadian border officers check the papers and that your pet matches them. Originals are best, since copies may not be enough. The full rules in both directions are in our guide to moving a pet between Canada and the US.
